The Catosphere exists to deliver the very best demographic and business location data, delivered online to your mobile desktop - anytime, anyplace, anywhere. What qualifies as the "very best" data? Below are just a few of the requirements that Catenate, the creators of the Catosphere, place on any data provider, software developer, or analyst, participating in this journey. And keep in mind that data does not have to be pressed on a CD for it to be reputable (in fact, new delivery media offer a timeliness and flexibility not found in traditional target marketing).
Requirements
- Providers (and their subcontractors) must be an established on ongoing organization, with a shining reputation in the marketing industry and business community
- Methodologies must founded in research principals, clearly described, and void of unsupported weighting (i.e., nothing is thrown at a dartboard, no fudge factors)
- Data must be accurate and verified by independent statisticians and demographers
- Data must be updated in a timely manner, in the shortest, reasonable time to provide for accuracy, meaningful analysis, and quality controls
- Software releases must be tested and conform to industry standards for quality control
- User interfaces must offer utility to the most-experienced user, yet be easily understood and manipulated by a novice or casual user
- Outputs (reports, maps, spreadsheets) must be properly formatted, including sizing, titles and sourcing, and page breaks
- Technical help must be available to respond in a reasonable time frame, with skilled and trained customer service and technical representatives and supervisors
- Providers must demonstrate a vision for innovation and responsiveness to the user community, with a funded plan for new offerings, new functionality, and continued support of existing products and services
With literally a team of industry veterns, Catenate has tried and tested nearly every demographics-based product on the market. We scour our universe on a daily basis for new sources and enhancements. And while no product is perfect, we use our strong relationships across multiple sources, to press vendors to continuously improve the utility of their offerings.
If you don't a source here that you think would enhance your experience, or for the benefit of other users of the Catosphere, please let us know. Either send us an email at , or we encourage you to log in to the Lets Talk Data Blog.
